Hire Girls in the Pit

Festival photography, social content, and brand coverage from inside the pit.

Girls in the Pit is a working media platform. Founder Tara Lenehan is a photographer and content producer with more than a decade in live music, work in PEOPLE Magazine, and a camera that already knows what to do when the lights drop. If you need photos, vertical video, and real coverage from a festival, a show, a tour stop, or a brand activation, this is the page for that.

  • 10+ years in the photo pit
  • Published: PEOPLE Magazine (BottleRock Napa Valley)
  • Based: Sacramento, CA
  • Travel: yes, for the right project

Services

Four core offers, built for the way festivals, artists, venues, and brands actually buy content. Each page spells out what you get, how it works, and what information I need to send a real quote.

Core offer

Festival & Concert Photography

Edited stills from the pit, backstage, and the crowd. Delivered fast enough to run on your socials and your post-show recaps, cut for editorial or marketing use depending on scope.

  • Headliners, support acts, atmosphere
  • Low-light pit experience, Sony A7 IV
  • Edited gallery in days, not weeks
  • Rights and usage scoped per project

Content production

Festival Content & Short-Form Video

Vertical video and social-first content built for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts. Think recap edits, artist moments, crowd energy, GRWM, and the day-in-the-life stuff that reads like a human made it, because one did.

  • DJI Pocket 3 + Sony A7 IV combo
  • 9:16 edits for feed, Stories, and ads
  • Raw files and usage add-ons available
  • Can post from your handles if briefed

Brand work

Brand Activations & Experiential

Coverage for the sponsored moments inside the festival: your booth, your lounge, your giveaway, your artist meet-and-greet. Treated like editorial so it does not read as an ad, but shot and licensed so it works as one.

  • Activation photo + vertical video
  • Scoped paid-ad usage and licensing
  • Interview and testimonial capture
  • Collaboration with your experiential agency

Recurring

Artist & Venue Content Retainers

Monthly content for the acts, promoters, and venues that need a steady feed of real images and vertical cuts. Fewer one-off hires, less expensive than a staff shooter, and your socials actually get fed.

  • Set show count per month, flex nights
  • Edited stills + vertical cuts per show
  • Shared drive, consistent file naming
  • 3-month minimum, 30-day cancel

The Process

  1. You send the brief

Event, date, location, deliverables you want, any access or deadlines. The inquiry form below asks for the pieces that let me quote without three back-and-forth emails.

  2. I send a quote

Scope, deliverables, turnaround, and licensing in plain language. Half-day, full-day, multi-day, or retainer. I will tell you honestly if your date is a conflict or your scope is better served by a bigger crew.

  3. We lock access

Accreditation, backstage, commercial filming, artist participation. These depend on the event and the artists, not on me. I will tell you which pieces I can secure, which pieces you need to secure, and which pieces are not possible.

  4. Shoot day

Show up, work the room, work the pit. Live edits for same-day social if that is in scope. Full gallery and vertical cuts delivered on the agreed timeline.

  5. Delivery and usage

Private gallery, download links, and vertical video files. Licensing is scoped in writing: internal, organic social, paid ads, press, or editorial. Extended usage can be added later.

Before You Inquire

Where are you based and do you travel?

Sacramento, California. I cover Sacramento, the Bay Area, and the rest of Northern California at local rates, and I travel for the right festival or multi-day brand project. Travel, accommodation, and per diem are quoted on top of production.

Do you shoot both photo and vertical video?

Yes. The usual kit is a Sony A7 IV for stills and a DJI Pocket 3 for 9:16 vertical video. For bigger productions, I bring or hire a second shooter so photo and video are not fighting for the same hands.

Can you deliver same-day for social?

Yes, within reason. For same-day social, I prefer to work with a brief that tells me which moments matter and which social channels the content is going to. Expect a batch of edited stills and short vertical cuts within hours, with a fuller gallery to follow.

How does usage and licensing work?

Base scope covers your event and your organic social channels. Paid-ad usage, extended duration, exclusivity, raw files, and creator-account posting are added as separate scope lines. I do not promise unlimited usage by default. Press and editorial reuse is written in by case.

Can you get me backstage access or commercial filming permissions?

Not by default. Accreditation, backstage access, commercial filming, and artist participation depend on the event and the acts, not on me. I will tell you up front what you need to secure, what I can help secure, and what simply is not possible for the date in question.

What is the difference between hiring content production and sponsoring Girls in the Pit?

Content production is me shooting photo and video for your channels. Sponsorship is paid distribution through the Girls in the Pit podcast, newsletter, or socials. Different offers, different scope, different pricing. The sponsorship page covers that.

Do you work with experiential or marketing agencies?

Yes. White-label content production for agencies is common. If you are an agency scoping a Sacramento, Bay Area, or NorCal festival activation and need a trusted local shooter, say so in the inquiry.

What is a realistic budget to start a conversation?

Half-day concert coverage, a one-day festival content package, or a brand activation starts in the mid four figures and scales from there with scope, crew, usage, and travel. If you have a tight number, say so, and I will tell you honestly what fits and what does not.
