Girls in the Pit · Media Kit

A creative media platform. A photographer behind it. A way to work together.

Girls in the Pit covers live music, festivals, artists, and the people who make creative communities possible. Founded and hosted by photographer Tara Lenehan, Sacramento-based, with more than a decade of live music photography and editorial work in PEOPLE Magazine. This page covers what GITP is, who runs it, what services and partnerships are on offer, and how to inquire.

Current as of October 2026. For a PDF or an updated audience export, request it with your inquiry.

The platform and the person

Girls in the Pit

A creative media platform publishing stories, photography, interviews, and a podcast about live music and the communities around it. GITP is intentionally women-led and makes more space for voices that have historically gotten less. It is not a women-only publication. The mission is documenting the people who keep creative culture alive, inside and around the pit.

Core surfaces: a website at girlsinthepit.com, a podcast on Spotify, a newsletter called The Pit Digest, and social channels on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

Tara Lenehan

Founder, host, and primary photographer. More than a decade in live music photography. Work published in PEOPLE Magazine, including coverage of BottleRock Napa Valley. Also runs TaraLens Media for photography outside the GITP editorial frame.

Primary gear: Sony A7 IV for stills, DJI Pocket 3 for vertical video. Based in Sacramento, California. Travel welcome for suitable paid projects.

Verified numbers, honestly

GITP is early-stage on reach, and we do not inflate. Numbers below are current as of October 2026 and will be refreshed. Request an updated audience export with any sponsorship inquiry.

What is not quoted on this page: TikTok, YouTube, and newsletter counts. These are small enough today that I would rather share them in a direct conversation with context than publish numbers that would be stale within a few weeks. If reach is what you are shopping, say so, and I will share what is current.

Two sides, drawn clearly

Production is me shooting for your channels. Sponsorship is paid distribution through GITP. Different offers, different scope, different pricing. One inquiry link.

Audience partnerships (through GITP)

  • Podcast integrations — pre-roll, mid-roll, host-read.
  • Newsletter placements in The Pit Digest.
  • Sponsored social posts across IG, TikTok, YouTube.
  • Clearly labeled sponsored partnership features.
